UAE and KSA: An Agreement to Combat Financial Terrorism

The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday the activation of a shared digital monitoring platform that operates in real time to track and monitor suspicious financial flows, effective March 17th, 2026, as part of their efforts to combat the financing of terrorism.
According to reports, the new platform aims to close loopholes that could potentially be exploited by designated terrorist entities or their economic fronts, particularly those linked to activities in Sudan, to smuggle funds or carry out money laundering operations through the financial system.
