Dead and wounded in bombing of Jebel Issa and Mellit in North Darfur

Eyewitnesses and multiple local sources reported that (more than 20 people) were killed and others wounded in an airstrike carried out by a drone belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the latter targeted the town of Jebel Issa and the city of Mellit in North Darfur state on Sunday evening.
Community leader Ibrahim Al-Toumi stated that a Sudanese Army drone launched a devastating attack on the market of the town of Jebel Issa, located approximately (140 kilometers) northwest of Al-Malha, which resulted in the immediate deaths of (13 people). He added that more than eight other bodies were burned beyond recognition, and several civilians -amongst whom were women- were unfortunately wounded.
Al-Toumi told (Darfur 24) that the bombing targeted a commercial vehicle as its passengers were leaving the market, in consequence, a number of civilians were burned alive. He noted that a number of charred bodies remain inside the market, as their identities are yet to be determined. He further revealed that there were significant losses of goods belonging to local residents and some merchants from neighboring villages.
In the city of Mellit, two sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, reported that a drone strike targeted a Starlink Satellite internet cafe west of the city, resulting in civilian casualties.
The sources indicated that initial reports suggest approximately six people were instantly killed and three others were injured, some were in a critical condition, and were promptly transported to the city’s rural hospital.
They added that the drone circled the city for sometime before launching its missiles at several locations, including the internet cafe in the city center.
