Sumoud Initiates European Tour to Support Efforts to End the War in Sudan

The Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud), Chaired by former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, announced that three delegations from the Alliance have begun a tour of European countries -including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom, in an effort to further discuss the current situation in Sudan and bolster efforts to end the war peacefully.
In a statement, the Alliance shared that, the tour aims to present the humanitarian and political situation in the country and review various initiatives to end the conflict peacefully, at a time when the continuation of the war serves to raise concerns in regards to the escalating violations, increased waves of prolonged displacement, and -potentially- exacerbated polarization and divisions within the country.
Furthermore, the Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud) explained that the delegations are scheduled to hold meetings with officials in European governments, as well as actors in international humanitarian organizations in an effort to discuss the deteriorating conditions witnessed in the regions of Kordofan and Darfur, in addition to mobilizing European support to promote peace and stability in Sudan.
