Full Details of Downing a Turkish-Made Bayraktar Drone Over Kordofan (Photos)

On Wednesday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced that they had managed to successfully shoot down a Turkish-made Bayraktar drone over Abu Qoud area in West Kordofan state. 

Furthermore, in a statement released today, they shared, “Today, Wednesday, 10th of December 2025, the Air Defence Units of the Rapid Support Forces successfully shot down a Turkish-made “Bayraktar” drone in the Abu Quaoud area, West Kordofan state.” 

They added that the Turkish drone had targeted civilians before it was shot down, as part of a series of attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that operates under the Muslim Brotherhood, committing horrific violations. The most recent being the Katila massacre, which claimed the lives of more than 120 people and left dozens injured.

Today, Wednesday, 10th December 2025, the Air Defence Units of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) successfully shot down a Turkish-made “Bayraktar” drone in the Abu Quaoud area, West Kordofan State, after it attempted to target civilians in the area. The attack was part of series of attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that operates under the Muslim Brotherhood, committing horrific violations. The most recent being the Katila massacre, which claimed the lives of more than 120 people and left dozens injured. 

Our forces reaffirm their firm commitment to protect civilians and decisively confront the attacks carried out by the Brotherhood’s terrorist army through its daily drone strikes, which target residential areas, public facilities, infrastructure, and hospitals, acts that constitute a blatant violation of international laws and norms. 

Once again, we call upon the international community, regional organizations, and human rights bodies to condemn these heinous crimes and to take immediate action to stop the repeated attacks on populated areas. 

We affirm that our forces will remain steadfast in their firm approach of vigilant monitoring and field readiness to protect towns and villages and ensure the safety of citizens. We also emphasize that we will not allow any threat targeting the homeland or the lives of the innocent people.
