Al-Mirghani: US House Resolution Against the Muslim Brotherhood is a Victory for the Sudanese People

Ibrahim Al-Mirghani, a leading figure in the original Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and member in the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis), welcomed the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s approval of a bill designating the Muslim Brotherhood and its branches, including those in Sudan, as a “Terrorist Organization.”
In a tweet on the (X) platform, Al-Mirghanistated that this step represents a historic decision that does justice to the Sudanese people, who suffered for thirty years under the terrorist group’s totalitarian rule and continue to face the consequences of its criminal war, which has resulted in the world’s largest humanitarian catastrophe.
He added, “We hope that Congress will expedite the final approval of this resolution, as designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization will contribute to eliminating the sources of terrorism and extremism, in addition to supporting efforts to achieve a just peace in Sudan and the region.”
