Statement from the Sudanese Community in the United Arab Emirates
On the occasion of the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates
The Sudanese Community in the United Arab Emirates extends its sincerest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; as well as to their brothers, Their Highnesses the Sheikhs, members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates; to the government of the United Arab Emirates and its brotherly people, on the occasion of fifty-fourth National Day. On this day, we reiterate our appreciation for the comprehensive development and pioneering achievements of the nation, the foundations of which were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, mercy be upon his soul, and his fellow Founding Fathers, which served to place the UAE in a prominent position amongst the nations of the world in various spheres of influence.
We, the sons and daughters of the Sudanese Community, wish to express our deep appreciation and profound gratitude for the principled stances that the UAE has consistently taken towards the people of Sudan during the grave crisis afflicting our country, by providing generous humanitarian support to the millions of refugees displaced by the war to Chad, South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. Moreover, the State has extended its helping hand and care to hundreds of thousands of Sudanese residing on its territory, whether long-term residents or those who arrived recently, for they were met with kindness, human warmth, and generous support.
Furthermore, we appreciate the steadfast position of the United Arab Emirates in regards to the war in Sudan and its earnest efforts through the Quartet mechanisms to establish peace and restore security and stability throughout our homeland. The aforementioned positions will always be appreciated by the Sudanese people. In this context, we wish to affirm that the insults and unjust accusations issued by a number of regime leaders in Port Sudan and the media outlets affiliated with the warmongers do not represent the Sudanese people, nor do they reflect the deep affection our people hold for the UAE, its leadership, government, and people. The relations between our two brotherly nations are deeply rooted in history, based on mutual respect, love, and sincere cooperation.
May the Almighty grant the UAE continued security and prosperity, and offer greater blessings, progress and prosperity on the upcoming cherished national occasion to the State’s leadership and people. May our homeland, Sudan, be blessed with sustainable peace and swift recovery from its ordeal.
