Whilst We Commend MBS and Trump: America and Russia’s punishment is Nigh

Abdul Hafeez Maryoud
Our friend from Omdurman, the daughter of Al Siraj, had married an Algerian man in the late nineties. They had a child and used to rent a house in Al-Thawra, on Al-Shanqiti Street. Her husband’s older brother lived with them. And her Algerian husband used to teach ‘Economics’ at Omdurman Islamic University. For her husband and his brother, as well, were Islamists who had fled the oppression of the authorities in Algeria, and Sudan at the time was a refuge for Islamists fleeing the oppression of their governments: Tunisians, Egyptians, Libyans, Algerians, Yemenis…etc.
In the middle of a particularly dark night, a car took the Algerian man and his brother… and because the woman’s father had connections within the government, he obtained information that the Security Service had arrested them and that they were safe. Two weeks later, at dawn, they were released and returned to collect their belongings, as the plane that would take them to Algeria was ready. Our friend insisted on accompanying her husband and went carrying her infant. She never set foot in Omdurman again.
See what I mean?
There were Sudanese “Islamist” women from Al-Jazeera, Khartoum, and the Nile River region who had -rather suddenly- lost their Tunisian, Moroccan, and Yemeni husbands —Islamists who had sought refuge in the “Promised land.” Planes were carrying them back, without family arrangements, and sometimes without even an opportunity to say goodbye… back to where they came from. Gaddafi executed the Libyans before they even reached Tripoli. Prisons overflowed with Islamists in Yemen, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, and elsewhere.
As the nineties drew to an end and we entered the second millennium, Salah Gosh, whilst puffing on his imported cigarettes, was concluding lucrative deals. As America’s doom was nowhere in sight. Instead, it had become a destination, a target, a beloved. It was no longer the “Plague,” as Mahmoud Darwish once called it, nor was it the “Great Satan,” as Imam Khomeini, had described it.
And because “the female of destiny is not satisfied with a sacrifice,” as the poet Mohammed al-Mahdi Majzoub said, Salah Gosh’s offerings were in vain. America was a courtesan in the neighborhood, “with a treacherous nature,” in the words of Abu Firasal-Hamdani. There was always more demands, more subservience. The needy are reckless, as the Arabs say. Hence, Gosh proceeded to extradite terrorists in various countries. He hands over the “terrorist” Carlos, expels —through organizational and governmental arrangements— Osama bin Laden, and his assets are confiscated, yet the courtesan remains unyielding. She doesn’t capitulate, nor was she showing any inclination to serve. Her situation similar to that of the woman from the Children of Israel, who demanded, as a dowry, the head of Yahyā ibn Zakariyyā, peace be upon them both.
See what I mean?
Then comes Naivasha. The Islamists sign it, in an attempt to capture the head of Yahyā ibn Zakariyyā. And then nothing. A precious part of the homeland is lost, after having tried “every possible path, known and usable,” in the words of Salah Haj Saeed. And hope fills the nostrils and hearts of the Islamists for a “rendezvous” that will never come. Ali Kartileaves the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ghandour arrives as a moderate “Islamist.” He tries repeatedly. Nevertheless, there’s always an obstacle. “You haven’t done anything positive in Darfur. Therefore, we will not move forward with you.” The “mini-state of Qatar,” as usual, intervenes and fabricates the “Doha Agreement for Peace in Darfur,” which is signed by Dr. Tijani Al-Sisi, who has never held a gun and has never experienced the horrors of war in Darfur. Naturally, Doha failed.
Then Al-Bashir’s shameful plea to Vladimir Putin takes place (I want you to protect me from America). Good heavens!
Al-Bashir leaves. Al-Burhan arrives carrying Mr. Ali Karti’s pitcher.
Mohammed Mohammed Khair heralds developments. We listen to the future arrangement. There will be a break with the Islamists. Assurances were given to the Gulf States and the West. There would be no Islamists in the traditional sense. Later, afewweeks ago, Mohammed Mohammed Khairdeclared that if next December passed without America designating the Rapid Support Forces as a terrorist organization, he would retire from politics. Hussein Mallasi, of course, mocked him.
Do you see ?
December hasn’t arrived yet. However, the chorus of Islamists and ‘Blabsa’ are already cheering and thanking Mohammed bin Salman. Even Ali Karti’s pitcher carrier, the fugitive Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, expressed gratitude to the man in a tweet.
Nevertheless, “hope is fleeting,” as the saying of Al-Baggara tribe goes.
Furthermore, President Trump is like the cross-eyed man who went to a restaurant and ordered fava beans, but ended up eating from the plate of kebabs his neighbor ordered. Instead of designating the Rapid Support Forces as a terrorist organization, he hinted that soon the Muslim Brotherhood would be designated as one. With whom was Mohamed Mohamed Khair making these arrangements and receiving assurances? Will the fragile and confused political arena lose an activist of Mansour Khaled’s candor? What a loss.
Do you see?
The female operatives and activists who support the Sudanese Armed Forces are wailing. The Islamist journalists and media figures are lamenting.
There’s no Quad, no Massad Boulos…
There’s no Trump, to begin with…
And the pitcher carrier is spouting nonsense…
Isn’t dawn near?
Oh, such a magnificent statue…
The Unknown Soldier…
Or the inspiring leader.
Anyway…
