The Islamists’ Duplicity in the Sudanese War

Mohammed El-Hassan Ahmed

Once upon a night, in late November 2017, the (Turkish) plane carrying the ousted Sudanese President, Omar Al-Bashir, landed under cover of darkness at an undisclosed Russian Airport. At the time, the “Lion of Africa” was secretly slithering between countries, fearing that the International Criminal Court (ICC) would discover his whereabouts and take him to The Hague, as he was one of its most wanted fugitives.

The Islamists had long proclaimed, “America and Russia, their punishment is nigh! If I were to confront them, I ought to strike them down at once!” The reader might assume that this landing was a declaration of war, a punishment already inflicted upon the masters of communism and the lands of “infidelity.” However, ironically, the leader of the march went seeking the protection of the Russian bear from the threats of the American cowboy…. Such was the hypocrisy of the Islamists, and such is the double standard that permeates their warped minds.

Additionally, because the coup carried out by -their- Burhan, compound with their senseless war were merely steps on the path of restoring their oppressive and tyrannical power, the Islamists’ ingenuity blossomed into further lies, blatant injustices against the Almighty and the people, in addition to blatant hypocrisy. Has history ever known more deceitful or worse people than them?

The first signs of their hypocrisy were uncovered when they ignited the war, shifted the blame for weakening the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and forming militias onto the civilian forces, whom they now consider demons, as they maintain cordial relations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). That, in addition to the statements of Sanaa Hamad –who “interrogated” the bowed heads of Military Commanders, citing the ease with which their fighters as well as advisors switch between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Army.

The voices of the Islamists have grown hoarse —their faces have become disfigured— in their intransigent rejection of any form of foreign intervention, even under the guise of peace, whilst simultaneously opening Sudan’s doors and airspace to extremists, aircraft, and weapons to facilitate their return to power… They opened the borders, allowing militias to cross into a neighboring country for training purposes —an act of unprecedented treachery— as if Sudan’s territory is unable to contain trainees. They enabled another country’s Air Force to wreak havoc, destroying infrastructure, and brought in aviation experts and extremists to attack civilians.

Strangely enough, the Islamists and their sycophantic followers rejoice whenever civilians are torn to pieces or convoys are burned in airstrikes in Western Sudan. Their appetite for death is whetted by the sight of the “grilled kebab maker,” whilst they wail and lament at every drone strike along the Nile or reaching the skies of Port Sudan.

They throw innocent people, blindfolded, into the Nile River from a high point… They slaughter prisoners of war like sheep, mercilessly and in cold blood, amidst cries of “Allahu Akbar.” They shoot detainees, and when faced with a similarly hateful response, they wail and scream, alerting the world to those crimes, when in reality, they are the perpetrators and masters of said crimes.

Such are the Islamists on their path of foolish hypocrisy, jumping around, repeating and wavering between “An imminent victory granted by the Almighty” and, from another perspective, “Do people think that they will be left alone on saying, ‘We believe,’ and will not be tested?”

They reject any honest voice or pen, any pure heart —from friends and brothers— that loves Sudan and hopes for its peace and unity, whilst elevating the likes of the degenerate Anis Mansour, even allowing him to delve into the shameful details of their senseless war against the women whose honor the Army fled and failed to protect.

Even from the Book of the Almighty, which places the sanctity of life above all else, they pick and choose, selecting only what pleases their heedless, closed minds. Are they truly incapable of transgressing against the international or local community?

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the Islamists have provided protection for criminals, preventing them from facing justice. They have dispersed across various capitals, yet they fervently demand the International Criminal Court to condemn the Rapid Support Forces for their crimes and arrest the perpetrators… They shut the world out whilst simultaneously pleading with it, through the back door, to lift the siege imposed on the Sudanese Army and grant them control over the Rapid Support Forces.

Their children and grandchildren continue their studies abroad. The women are safe, living in luxury, and the people’s plundered wealth continues to swell in the capitals. Meanwhile, they send the children of the displaced and refugees into the inferno of a war that is merely the price of their return to power.

These are the Islamists —may Allah destroy them—  so show me, dear reader, anyone as hypocritical as they are, and I’m fairly positive you won’t find a way to do so.
