RSF stipulates strict conditions for participating in negotiations

Reliable sources announced that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have stipulated strict conditions for participating in the talks initiated by the Quadripartite Mechanism in Washington.

The Forces stated that they will participate in the talks based on the Constitution of the Sudan Founding Alliance, which includes fundamental principles, most notably of which are secularism, federalism, the establishment of a single professional national army, the extradition of those wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), in addition to the formation of an international investigation committee tasked with investigating all violations, including the use of internationally prohibited chemical weapons, and the elimination of the Islamists —the National Congress Party (NCP) along with all its extremist militias.

The sources added that the Rapid Support Forces stipulated the continuation of military operations during the talks, stressing that they will not allow the Islamic Movement’s militias to exploit the negotiations to reach a tactical truce.

In conclusion, the sources indicated that the RSF has always welcomed peace efforts, whilst the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), controlled by the Islamic Movement, has intransigently rejected and evaded all initiatives.
