When Tyranny reaches the stage of disrobement !

Rasha Awad
One of the most prominent oppressors in Naguib Mahfouz’s novel “The Harafish,” known for his tyrannical and debauched ways, ended up going out in public naked, just as his mother gave birth to him! In an effort to express and further emphasize his contempt for the people, for he wished to convey to them that, “In my eyes, you are nothing! You are not worthy of me troubling myself by getting dressed in front of you!”
The poor man enjoyed being naked in public, considering it a sign of absolute power, control, and success in subjugating, oppressing, and humiliating people! Nevertheless, naturally, those he believed were terrified of him began to pity him and considered him insane, which promptly turned him into a laughingstock!
The behavior of the aforementioned oppressor is deeply symbolic of the consequences of tyranny!
For tyranny at its lowest ebb ends in disrobment.! Not necessarily in terms of clothing, as in the novel!
Rather, it is lacking any moral value! Failing to comprehend the simplest rules of logic and the conventional restraints of reason!
A circulated video clip documented a member of the Islamic (kizani) Shadow Brigades, in which he speaks with enthusiasm, pride, and dignity, saying, “When the forces manage to arrest a collaborator with the militia, and before determining whether he is -in fact- a collaborator or not, he will be sent to meet his Maker.” Of course, this maniac is providing evidence of these forces’ incrimination and proving that they are killing people indiscriminately. To a normal person, this is rather shameful and immoral, however, for the Islamists, this is a sacred act of jihad that ought to be celebrated, in a similar manner to how that young man was boldly bragging about exposing his private parts to the public!
The same applies to the field of journalism, for one of its most important functions is to frame public issues in a rational framework that ought to facilitate dialogue governed by the rules of logic. Nonetheless, the de facto regime’s most prominent journalists sacrifice logic and boast about their deeds, just as that man obsessed with accomplishing similar results did, amidst cheers (Tahleel and Takbir), praise, and laughter, for he repeated, “Before you can ascertain whether or not you’re collaborating with the other party, these guys would cut off your head.”
Therefore, I greatly appreciate and understand the point of view adopted by those who advised me not to waste any time arguing with any Islamist (Koz), Security Service affiliate, or pro-military journalist. Because the reality of attempting a rational dialogue, posing logical questions, and critically refuting statements with these people is a completely absurd act, akin to speaking to someone in a foreign language of which they don’t know a single word!
It is a stage of exposing tyranny, just like that oppressor!
The stage of cheering (Tahleel and Takbir), praise, and public boasting about literally slaughtering people, and, more dangerously, slaughtering the entire nation by disdaining justice and sacrificing it as well!
The stage where journalists boast about competing with female singers in obscenity as well as indecency in their disputes, dismantling the logic and violating people’s rights instead of discussing ideas!
Truly, there’s no point in attempting a dialogue where the two parties speak two completely different languages!
Yet despite all the aforementioned, we ought not remain silent in the face of slander, falsehood, and accusations of charges that violate national honor! we ought not remain silent, but reveal the truth to the good Sudanese, who would never imagine that there are others so bold in lying, fabricating, and tarnishing people’s reputations, as the “security-military-Kizanipress,” the perpetrator and the victim at the same time!
