Full details about the martyrdom of the Majaneen Tribe’s Nazir in El Mazroub

In a recent development that incited a wave of widespread shock within tribal and administrative circles in North Kordofan, tribal leaders from the Majaneen tribe revealed precise information regarding the military operation that claimed the life of Nazir Suleiman Jaber Sahl, one of the tribe’s most prominent figures, along with several other leaders of the Native Administration. According to the tribal leaders, a drone belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) targeted a tribal meeting held last Friday, the subsequent attack resulted in the tragic death of approximately (30 people) and wounded others. Furthermore, this direct targeting of a traditional tribal council sparked a wave of anger and condemnation, amidst demands to reveal the circumstances which led to the issuance of the military decision authorizing the execution of the aforementioned airstrike.
Omar Abu Sakin, a leader and one of the Majaneen tribe’s representatives, released an audio recording in which he revealed information regarding an official meeting that was held between a delegation from the tribe and the governor of North Kordofan state, in the presence of members of the state’s security committee. Abu Sakin explained that the delegation included prominent figures from the tribe, including Mohammed Mansour, Col. Al-Haj Adam Naeim, and Hussein Ibrahim. During the meeting, details of the attack on the meeting were discussed. He confirmed that the security committee indicated that the decision to launch drones was issued by the state’s control room, placing direct responsibility on local military authorities for making and implementing the decision.
In addition, Omar Abu Sakin indicated that the security committee informed the delegation that the control room had issued a decision one day before the attack, ordering airstrikes on the areas of Al-Maria and Al-Qarba, both are located in El-Mazroub. This latter statement served to reinforce the hypothesis that the attack was not random or the result of a field error, but rather part of a pre-planned military plan, which, rather naturally, invokes legitimate questions concerning the nature of the intelligence information on which the decision was based and the accuracy of its targeting, especially since the meeting that was targeted included unarmed civilian community leaders.
Abu Sakin concluded his testimony by pointing out that the tribal delegation was attacked just three minutes after arriving at the site. He asserted that the drone had been launched from the city of El-Obeid, which he considered damning evidence that the strike was directed at the Majaneen delegation. The precise timing of the attack, along with the nature of the targets, prompted community leaders to consider what happened a systematic targeting of the tribe, rather than a mere military operation in the context of the ongoing conflict.
