Within two weeks, SARHO facilitates the arrival of 202 aid trucks to Darfur

 On Wednesday, the Sudanese Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Operations (SARHO) announced that, within two weeks, it was able to successfully facilitate the arrival of (202 trucks) loaded with food and non-food supplies to various Darfur states. The aforementioned achievement comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict and enhance coordination with local and international partners.

During the period from (October 2nd to 8th, 2025), the Agency facilitated the arrival of (65 aid trucks) to West, Central, South, and East Darfur states. In South Darfur, the aforementioned efforts were accomplished in cooperation with World Vision and supported by the World Food Programme (WFP), as (34 trucks) loaded with (1,483 tons) of foodstuffs were delivered to displaced persons and the most vulnerable families. During the same period, the Agency managed (55) humanitarian operations, including issuing transit permits for international workers and transporting relief supplies to organizations.

Furthermore, utilizing the support provided by the (WFP), the Sudanese Agency managed to facilitate the movement of (22 trucks) loaded with food supplies to East Darfur, where they were distributed to beneficiaries in localities and administrative units across the state.

In West Darfur, (SARHO) facilitated the arrival of (five trucks) loaded with food and non-food items and issued (35) transit permits to support humanitarian organizations’ movements as well as ensure their access to targeted areas. In Central Darfur, the Agency supervised the entry of (four trucks) loaded with food supplies, including maize, rice, oil, and lentils, with valuable support from the (WFP) whilst the Catholic Relief Services was in charge of implementing the operations. In addition, the Sudanese Agency managed (31) humanitarian movements to facilitate field activities.

During the period spanning from the (25th of September to the 2nd of October 2025) the Sudanese Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Operations was responsible for facilitating the arrival of (75) WFP-supported humanitarian aid trucks to South Darfur. The aid in question was distributed to the displaced persons residing in the IDPs Camps of Kalma, Otash, Dereig, and Al-Salam, as well as to vulnerable families in the cities of Nyala, Kass, Buram, Al-Salam, and Al-Radom.

Moreover, the Agency facilitated the passage of an additional (62 trucks) loaded with relief supplies, including (60 trucks) to East Darfur and (two trucks) to West Darfur. In cooperation with the World Relief Organization, food aid was distributed to (14,794 families) in various areas of Kulbus locality.

In coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Sudanese Red Crescent (SRC), the Sudanese Agency supervised the implementation of a cash transfer program that benefited (4,000 families) of newly and formerly displaced persons, the elderly, and widows in residential neighborhoods and displacement camps in Zalingei.

The Sudanese Relief and Humanitarian Operations Agency affirmed its unwavering commitment to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to all affected people in its areas of responsibility through enhanced coordination and partnerships with donors and local as well as international organizations, ensuring the timely delivery of humanitarian support with the highest levels of efficiency and security.
