Ezzeldin El Safi appointed as Chairman of the National Authority for Humanitarian Access

 The Prime Minister of the Government of Peace and Unity, Mohamed Hassan El-Ta’aishi, announced today, Friday, the appointment of Ezz El-Din El-Safi as Chairman of the National Authority for Humanitarian Access.

The Prime Minister’s decision comes within the context of implementing the Peace Government’s mandate to address humanitarian crises, protect civilians, and foster the appropriate conditions for the return of displaced persons and refugees.

Appointing the Chairman of the National Authority for Humanitarian Access

In accordance with the provisions of the 2025 Constitution of the Republic of Sudan, and based on the mandate of the Government of Peace to address humanitarian crises, protect civilians, and foster the appropriate conditions for the return of displaced persons and refugees, and in implementation of Decision No. (1) of 2025 regarding humanitarian access, and in recognition of the necessity of establishing an effective mechanism tasked with regulating and facilitating humanitarian access in addition to ensuring the coordination of national as well as international efforts in this field. In the aftermath of careful consultation and deliberation, the following decision was issued:

1. Appointment:

Mr. Ezz El-Din Mohamed Ahmed El-Safi is appointed Chairman of the National Authority for Humanitarian Access, as a Minister. He shall exercise all the powers and authorities assigned to the position under applicable laws and regulations, ensuring that the Authority performs its humanitarian duties in facilitating and coordinating the delivery of relief and humanitarian aid to those in need throughout the country without discrimination.

2. Implementation:

This decision shall take effect from the date of its signing. Hence, ministries, agencies, and relevant authorities shall implement it and provide the necessary cooperation and coordination with the National Authority for Humanitarian Access in an effort to enable the latter to perform its duties efficiently and smoothly.
