Tokar… Confiscation of land ownership documents sparks controversy in Eastern Sudan

 The de facto local authorities in Eastern Sudan performed a rather shocking act when it destroyed thousands of documents and records proving the land ownership of farmers in the Tokar Delta, Eastern Sudan.

Hundreds of farmers -consequently- staged widespread protests in Tokar over the destruction of the documents and records.
