Kuwait welcomes Quad efforts regarding Sudan

 Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al-Yahya expressed the State of Kuwait’s welcome of the joint statement issued by the Quad (the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United States) regarding their support for a peaceful solution to the Sudanese crisis.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Foreign Minister affirmed that Kuwait highly appreciates the efforts put forth by the four countries to end the ongoing conflict in Sudan, stressing his country’s commitment to Sudan’s unity, Sovereignty, and territorial integrity, in addition to promoting regional peace, security, and stability.

Al-Yahya indicated that the aforementioned efforts are in line with Kuwait’s position in support of a ceasefire, fostering appropriate conditions for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, in addition to engaging in serious negotiations in accordance with the terms of reference of the Jeddah Declaration and relevant international community resolutions.

Thus, the State of Kuwait officially joins the list of countries welcoming the Quad statement, affirming its support for everything that achieves the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, peace, and sustainable development.
