UK Foreign Secretary: Sudan’s future must be decided by its people

 The British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper welcomed the efforts put forth by the Quad -the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, to end the war in Sudan.

Cooper stated on her (X) account, “The Sudanese people have endured unimaginable suffering for too long.”

The British official affirmed her country’s welcome of the necessary steps to end what she described as “the brutal conflict” and enable a peaceful and inclusive transition in Sudan.

Furthermore, Cooper noted the illegitimacy of the actions of the de facto authority in Port Sudan and shared that Sudan’s future must be decided by its people.
