US State Department: We will not allow the Islamists to return to power in Sudan

 The US State Department shared in an official statement that the US Government will use all available tools to ensure that Sudanese Islamists will not return to power.

In its official statement, the US State Department explained that this step comes within the context of Washington’s policy; aimed at supporting stability in Sudan and preventing the return of political Islamist forces associated with periods of tyranny and unrest.

The statement explained that the United States will continue to impose sanctions on individuals and entities associated with armed Islamist groups, especially those linked to external parties such as Iran, and emphasizing Washington’s commitment to working with the international community to support a civilian political transition in Sudan.
