Al Burhan cedes Halayeb, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad to Egypt in exchange for military support: Will Egypt be satisfied with the Gold Triangle?

Ibrahim Matar
The truth quickly came to light, and news broke of a meeting between the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of the Port Sudan Authority, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan. During the meeting, the two parties agreed that the Halayeb Triangle falls within the borders of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Sudanese Sovereignty Council of the Port Sudan Authority addressed a letter to the National Border Authority on (May 11th, 2025), requesting that it adopt a map showing the triangle within the Egyptian borders during discussions with the Saudi side regarding the details of the demarcation of the maritime border between Sudan and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The aforementioned letter stated that the decision was made “in agreement” between El-Sisi and Al-Burhan, who offered his land -rather cheaply- to the Egyptian President in exchange for military support. Al-Burhan thus became like one of the warring kings of Andalusia during the reign of the governors, seeking refuge with the enemy and granting the latter territory and power -in the land of their ancestors- in exchange for being able to kill relatives! Al-Burhan’s baseness is beyond reproach.
It is rather well known that Egypt occupied the Triangle in (1995), following a failed attempt by the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Al-Bashir regime to assassinate former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak. The ousted government remained silent about the occupation at the time, fearing that its leaders would be brought before international courts on charges of attempting to assassinate Mubarak.
In contrast, Egypt has consistently rejected the timid and repeated calls by the ousted regime to refer the dispute to international arbitration, citing the provisions of International Law, which require both parties to consent to referring the matter to an arbitration body.
Furthermore, Egypt insists that the Triangle falls within its Sovereign borders, based on official maps and the full institutional presence in the area —including public services as well as civilian and military infrastructure— which the Egyptian government seized by force of arms, to begin with. Al-Burhan continues to polish his medals, speaking to the public about patriotism and Sovereignty, and threatening the Sudan Founding Alliance forces, “like a cat attempting to enact the the lion’s might to intimidate,” whilst begging the Egyptian “Sisi” for weapons and political support! Highlighting the weak nature of the seeker and what he seeks to satisfy.
Another agreement on the joint exploitation of natural resources in the shared area between Saudi Arabia and Sudan, revealed by the news, relates to the area between the 1000m depth line in the Red Sea, It was signed on the 24th of Rabi’ al-Akhir 1394 (May 16th, 1974). The boundaries of the exclusive economic zone between the two countries have yet to be agreed upon. Saudi Arabia, which supports Al-Burhan with money and weapons, also wants its share of the country’s resources. Al-Burhan doesn’t have the luxury of refusing, or even abstaining, as the outcome would be a new incursion by the Kingdom into Sudanese territorial waters. It remains a mystery how much of Sudan’s territory Al-Burhan will cede -or trade- to the new colonizers in exchange for victory in his war, the cost of which has become far greater than any potential gains.
The Halayeb-Shalateen-Abu Ramad Triangle is known as the “Gold Triangle” due to its abundant natural resources, as well as its strategic importance due to its pivotal geographic location on shipping routes in the Red Sea. Nevertheless, Al-Burhan is oblivious to all the above, lost in the mire of his organic alliance with the Brotherhood of the Devils.Meanwhile, Cairo is intensifying its diplomatic and political efforts to preserve what it considers “non-negotiable rights,” and Al-Burhan is busy receiving instructions from the world’s most notorious beggar, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Amani Al-Tawil, a journalist with close ties to Egyptian Intelligence, stated, “Let everyone remember that this is God’s land, and we are its custodians. I hope the Sudanese media will clarify the benefits of demarcating Sudan’s maritime borders.” The Brotherhood of the Devils’ baseness has yet to reach its end, as they have become agents of a country that has -in itself- became trampled on by everyone.
Moreover, you can read in the records of the liberation war that Sudan’s territory is shrinking to match the stature of the humble Port Sudan Authority. As Sudan is “too big” for such people. They cannot rule it as an authoritarian minority, hence, they either ought to divide its people or its territory.
The roadmap submitted to the United Nations by the Port Sudan Authority exposed its intentions to divide the country in submission to the will of the Sudanese Islamic Movement, which holds it by the collar and directs it toward the East and the West, at will. Yet, here is the Democratic Bloc, an ally of “Al-Burhan”, finding itself stripped of all the conditions that would -normally- ensure its survival, if the world chooses to agree to the plot of the Brotherhood of the Devils and their ally Al-Burhan, as their ethnicities would cease to exist in the new State, which couldn’t even tolerate their impoverished, and proceeded to expel them from the capital, as well as the eastern and southern states, and for that purpose enacted the racist Informal Housing Law, led by “Abdul Rahman A’msib”, in addition to the “Strange Faces Law”, leading to a separatist “roadmap”. Undermining history will inevitably lead to undermining geography. May Allah’s eternal damination be upon the Brotherhood of the Devils.
