The Aversion!!

Sabah Mohammad Al-Hassan

The steps and passion have faded, and it seems that loyalty has become only to oneself, and so has he!!

Previously, the coup authority had managed to overcome the aversion of the ministers nominated by the de facto Prime Minister Kamil Idris. Some declined to accept the assignment, while others didn’t and chose to remain silent. Such instances confirmed to Idris that the labyrinthine path he had chosen shouldn’t waste national talent in its desolation. National talents could find a future opportunity to serve the nation, without burning their history with the fires of war and destroying their struggle by supporting the coup. In fact, a position in Al-Burhan’s government is only a tempting addition to those tempted by positions without any added value!

Therefore, the most important lesson Idris ought to have learned from the aforementioned situation is represented in the rejection by competent national figures of the position, which he failed to reject!

Those who rejected the positions realized that the people ought to put forth efforts to stop what the coup authority has caused, not to join forces with the authority, granting it the opportunity to continue on its path of tampering with the nation and lives. This was his opportunity to resign!

The situation wasn’t limited to the ministers’ proverbial escape, which the government ignored and overlooked. Moreover, you can also note how the government is choosing to ignore the stubbornness and rebellion of ambassadors against the State, which has become a “fashion.”

Yesterday, for the second time, a number of Sudanese diplomats at the Sudanese Embassy in the Republic of Ireland, including the ambassador himself, refused to return to Port Sudan and submitted requests for political asylum to the Dublin government.

News websites reported that the Sudanese Ambassador to Ireland, Adel Banaga, submitted an official asylum request to the Irish authorities, along with a number of diplomats, immediately after the end of their diplomatic tenure abroad.

These websites revealed that amongst the diplomats who submitted requests for political asylum in Ireland were the embassy’s general attaché, Omar Ork, and the Sudanese Consul, Mohammed Musa, as well as several others who chose to break away from the regime and seek safe haven abroad. This is the second such incident, following the first that occurred at the Sudanese Embassy in the UAE, which confirms a profound disconnect between the de facto government and its diplomatic missions.

Although the ambassadors’ rebellion had nothing to do with nationalist positions rejecting either the war or the coup, they were supporters of the absurd war. When their term ended, they refused to respond to the request to return to Port Sudan and applied for asylum! This means that the aforementioned were personal positions, no more than a pursuit of personal interests and a better life abroad, far removed from the authority of Port Sudan. After such deeds, they shouldn’t “shame” their opponents for being abroad! This ambassador in particular signed the famous ambassadors’ statement rejecting the coup, however, 24 hours later, he made a statement on Sudan TV, denying any connection to the statement. As for the other two, they were dismissed by the Empowerment Dismantling Committee in (February 2020), and Al-Burhan reinstated them to the Foreign Ministry in (January 2022). They were then transferred to Dublin with the ambassador!

At this juncture, the same group that disavowed the ambassadors’ statement rejecting the coup is disavowing Al-Burhan, after having supported his coup for five years and backed the war for three. When they realized the ship was being suffocated by the waves, they refused to return to Port Sudan and shamelessly applied for political asylum.

These are the “final days” that are causing the de facto authority in Port Sudan to suffer a “state of abandonment.” The previous apologies of rejection mean that accepting to be a part of Al-Burhan’s authority has become a matter of fear, with all fearing the loss of one’s history and future. In addition, departures mean that remaining has become terrifying as well.

As Minnawi’s departure from the battlefield may also be a quest for safety!

In Conclusion:

The “Kizani” media said: “The arrest of Al-Baraa by the Egyptian authorities was done to protect him.”

The State summons those it attempts to protect and informs them of its intention to do so, without surprising them with a raid on their residence. The presence of Almusbah on its territory isn’t a threat to him… but it is a threat to said territory!
