Almusbah in a Bottle: New details about the arrest of Al Baraa Brigade’s Terrorist Leader in Cairo

Reliable sources revealed that the Egyptian authorities continue to detain the Commander of Al-Baraa Ibn Malik Brigade, a terrorist group in Sudan, hours following his arrival in Cairo.
The sources shared that Egyptian authorities raided Almusbah’s residence, as the extremist brigade he leads is being pursued on charges of terrorism, extrajudicial killing, torturing civilians, and involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Those close to Al-Baraa Ibn Malik Brigade reported that Almusbah arrived in Cairo seeking treatment for an injury, in addition to visiting his immediate family, who are currently in Cairo. Other members of his family, including his mother, remain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi authorities had previously arrested Al-Baraa Brigade’s leader, imprisoned him, and then deported him to Port Sudan following mediation efforts by the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan. At the time, Almusbah Abuzaid appeared in handcuffs at Jeddah Airport during his deportation to Port Sudan.
Fighters within Al-Baraa militia threatened to arrest the Egyptian Ambassador to Port Sudan or any diplomatic figure at the Egyptian Mission in Sudan if the militia leader’s detention by Egyptian authorities continues.
Islamist writer Abdel Majid Abdel Hamid noted that Egypt had granted Almusbah an entry visa, asserting that Egyptian authorities planned to arrest him upon his arrival. He called on Cairo to release the Commander immediately and clarify the reasons for his arrest.
