Within 48 hours… The Governor of Darfur Region issues an urgent appeal to the citizens of El Fasher

The Governor of Darfur Region and member of the Presidential Council in the Government of Peace and Unity, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris, issued an urgent appeal to the citizens of El-Fasher, North Darfur, who have been unable to leave the city during the recent period, to head to the area of (Garni) for evacuation to safe areas within 48 hours.

Dr. Al-Hadi went on to state, in light of the tense and critical security situation in El-Fasher, “I would like to urge the citizens and appeal to them -with a great sense of urgency- If you are still inside the city and have yet to leave, please take immediate action to evacuate the city within the next 48 hours.”

He confirmed that security forces are present and ready to secure the evacuation of civilians process, adding that the forces are prepared and stationed in the area of (Garni).

The Governor of Darfur Region went on to urge, “Please head immediately to the Garni area. There are designated vehicles available to transport everyone to safe areas.” He added, “We are putting forth diligent efforts to ensure your safe passage out of these dangerous areas, and to safer locations.”
