Tasis: Prepared to handle war and peace scenarios expertly

Dr. Suleiman Sandal, head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), and a leader in the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis), stated that the government of (Tasis) represents the Second Republic in Sudan, a government of both peace and war, simultaneously. He explained: “If the Port Sudan government wants to achieve peace, we are prepared, and if they want war, we are prepared as well until we liberate all of Sudan.” He pointed out that the previously announced government of (Tasis) will be -effective- on the ground, amongst the people and will participate in the process of liberating Sudan.
During a symposium organized by the United Civil Forces (UCF) in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, under the title “Establishing the Sudanese State on the Foundations of the Federal System and Good Governance,” Sandal stated that the direct cause for the absence of a national project agreed upon by all Sudanese and based on justice and equality amongst them is the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which monopolized weapons and power alike. He accused the Islamists of exploiting the military institution, hijacking the State, and usurping power from the people.
He concluded, “The revolution in Darfur didn’t succeed and ultimately ended with the Abuja Agreements with Minni Minnawi, the Doha Agreements with El-Tijani al-Sisi, and others, leading up to the Juba Peace Agreement (JPA). We had proposed a federal system based on the regions, with the regional governors as vice presidents. This was a proposal we had put forward in the Justice and Equality Movement, but it failed to materialize. Today, however, it has become a reality within the Sudan Founding Alliance.”
