Ahead of the Washington meeting, the UAE presents its vision for resolving the Sudanese crisis

In a statement reflecting a clear diplomatic stance, Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE, stressed that his country strongly supports an immediate end to the war in Sudan, reiterating that the UAE is putting forth constructive efforts alongside its regional and international partners to achieve peace in Sudan as itsexperiencing a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Gargash’s statement, made via the (X) platform, indicated that the UAE’s message may have been misunderstood or not heard clearly. He added that the UAE affirms its full support for ending the war in Sudan without delay. The Advisor explained that his country believes that Sudan’s future oight to be built on an independent, civilian-led government that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people for stability and development.
Abu Dhabi’s position comes in the context of ongoing diplomatic efforts undertaken by the UAE following the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan, where it has played an active role in supporting political and humanitarian initiatives aimed at ending the fighting. In addition, the UAE has participated in international talks aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement, whilst repeatedly emphasizing the importance of dialogue as a means of resolving conflicts and rejecting any military escalation that would further complicate the crisis.
