Al Mahdi: The decision to attack RSF at the Sports City was issued by Islamist leaders in SAF

The head of the Umma Party, Mubarak Al-Fadil, confirmed that the “dissolved” National Congress Party (NCP) fired the first bullet in the ongoing war in Sudan.

Mubarak shared in a tweet on the (X) platform that the decision to attack the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) at the Sports City on (April 15th, 2023), was issued by Islamist leaders in the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), under directives of the Islamic Movement’s leadership and its representatives, Ali Karti and Ali Osman Mohamed Taha. He called for the appointment of an international committee tasked with investigating the truth behind which party was responsible for starting the war, in addition Al-Fadil stated that the perpetrators ought to be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
