Two killed and several injured in warehouse explosion in Omdurman

On Saturday, a Civil Defense member and a woman were killed, whilst several others were injured in a warehouse explosion in Omdurman, Khartoum state.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred in a warehouse in the fourth district (Al-Harat) of Karrari locality, resulting in the death of a Civil Defense member and a woman, whilst five other civilians and Civil Defense personnel were injured.

Residents in the area reported successive explosions involving the unknown contents of the warehouse, which -naturally- incited a wave of terror amongst them. They added that authorities informed them that the warehouse in question was housing toys, however, such claims raised suspicions amongst the locals, who shared that soldiers in SAF uniforms had been guarding the warehouse -prior to its explosion- throughout the past period.
