In an interview, Al Faki: Halting the formation of the Port Sudan Authority will save Sudan

Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman, a former member of the Sovereignty Council and a leader in the Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud), stated that one of the conditions required in order to save Sudan today is halting the process of forming an authority in Port Sudan and engaging -instead- in a comprehensive political process.

He pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood’s insistence on returning to power has only served to push the country from a coup to war, which has -consequently- destroyed the economy and torn apart the social fabric.

Furthermore, Al-Faki asserted that the Islamic Movement planned the October 25th Coup, for they exploited the military’s ambitions for power and the complexities of the security system inherited from the era of dictatorship, ignoring the Sudanese people’s desire for civilian rule.

In an interview with (Erem News), Suleiman added that the war coalition is vying for power and resources under false slogans, emphasizing that the current timing is the most appropriate for initiating a comprehensive political process that will stop the war and unite Sudan.

The leader in (Sumoud) stressed the necessity of ensuring that the Sudanese people are granted an opportunity to participate, in addition, a ceasefire ought to be implemented first.

In conclusion, Al-Faki Suleiman warned that Kamil Idris’s authority is merely a facade.
