Complete power outage in several Sudanese states

The Sudan Electricity Holding Company announced the occurrence of a power outages in several states today, due to technical failures affecting the national electricity grid, which resulted in widespread blackout across the country.

The Electricity Company urged the public to be understanding of the current situation and practice patience until service is fully restored.

Power outages are recurring in the country due to the lack of funding, scarcity of spare parts, and difficulties accessing some affected locations due to the deteriorating security situation. These outages come at a time when citizens are experiencing harsh living and humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing war that has been raging since (April 2023).
