SLM-TC: El Fasher is a military operations zone and the majority of civilians have fled to safe areas

The Sudan Liberation Movement – Transitional Council (SLM-TC), led by Al-Hadi Idris, renewed its call for residents of El-Fasher and the IDPs Camps surrounding the city to evacuate and head towards areas under the Movement’s control in Korma, Ain Siro, and other safe localities in North Darfur state.

The (SLM-TC) added in a statement addressed to the UN Secretary-General, “We would like to affirm that El-Fasher has become a military operations zone, and that the majority of civilians have fled to safer areas. We call kn the relevant parties to provide humanitarian and relief aid to support those affected by this national catastrophe in the areas of Korma, Tawila, Kutum, Ain Siro, Kabkabiya, and Jebel Marra.”

The Sudan Founding Alliance Forces welcomed successive waves of civilians fleeing the grip of Armed Movements in El-Fasher amidst dire humanitarian conditions. The forces promptly provided medical, transportation, and shelter services to thousands fleeing El-Fasher.
