The Rapid Support Forces advance further into the strategic city of El Obeid, North Kordofan

On Thursday, the strategic city of El-Obeid in North Kordofan state, witnessed a new development. Field sources shared that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) managed to successfully assume control of the Diraesu and Alsunut areas in the northern part of the city. The latest development comes as part of an accelerated military advancement, aimed at expanding their presence within North Kordofan state’s territory.

Additionally, for operational and geographical considerations, Diraesu and Alsunut are considered strategic locations in the northern part of El-Obeid. As they are located at the northern entrance to the city, making them a major crossing point for military movements coming from North Kordofan towards the center of El-Obeid. Moreover, the aforementioned locations control supply routes and a number of routes leading to neighboring states.
