Decision to renew residency permits for Sudanese in UAE with passports valid for less than 6 Months

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) has decided to issue new visas, renew residency permits, and issue identity cards to Sudanese nationals in the country with passports valid for less than (6 months) in an effort to regularize their status.
The decision to facilitate procedures for Sudanese residents in violation of the UAE’s directives comes within the framework of the UAE’s established humanitarian approach, and supports national efforts aimed at enhancing social and humanitarian stability for residents in the country, according to (Al-Khaleej) newspaper.
In addition, the Federal Authority has decided to exempt Sudanese nationals from fines related to residency and entry permits, reflecting its commitment to mitigating the repercussions of the exceptional circumstances facing their country.
Previously, the (ICP) clarified that the decision will remain in effect until the end of the year. Those who have accrued fines will be able to rectify their status and submit renewal applications through the Authority’s official digital channels. The procedures will be streamlined and flexible, with fines waived.
