Al Mahdi reveals the purpose of appointing Kamil Idris’ Government

Siddig Sadiq al-Mahdi, a leader in the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud), revealed that the appointment of a government headed by Kamil Idris aims to legitimize as well as to resume Sudan’s membership in the African Union.

He added in a recorded statement broadcast on (Facebook) that despite the positive statement from the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on this particular subject, the final decision rests with the African Peace and Security Council (PSC).
