SAF commits horrific crime against a family in Salha

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) killed an entire family, consisting of a father, mother, and five children, the youngest of whom were four-month-old twins, in the area of Salha in Omdurman.
The Sudanese Congress Party (SCoP) shared in a statement that the Special Action Unit of the Sudanese Army committed a horrific crime in the area of Salha, south of Omdurman.
“Based on confirmed and reliable information, we have learned of a horrific crime that took place in the area of Salha, south of Omdurman, carried out by members of the Special Action Unit of the Sudanese Armed Forces. A father, his wife, and children, amongst whom were a baby girl and twins under four months old. They were killed in their home in cold blood, just days after the Army announced its control of the area,” according to the statement.
The (SCoP) emphasized that the crime committed in Salha, which adds to the growing record of violations in conflict zones, represents a stark example of the lack of discipline and accountability within units officially affiliated with the military establishment, and reveals the extent of the danger facing civilians in the absence of the State and the rule of law.
The Party held the Sudanese Armed Forces fully responsible for this crime and called on them to uphold their legal and moral duty to stop these units and launch a transparent and independent investigation to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
In its statement, the Party went on to explain, “We, in the Sudanese Congress Party – Khartoum state, would like to reaffirm that crimes against civilians won’t be forgotten or forgiven. We renew our call for an immediate cessation of hostilities -this absurd war, the disarmament of violent units, and engagement in a civil political process that will put an end to this comprehensive collapse.”
