Mubarak Al Fadil: Gold-rich individuals are obstructing any path to ending the war in Sudan

The head of the Umma Party, Mubarak Al-Fadil Al-Mahdi, stated that gold and war-rich individuals are obstructing any efforts that could end the war in Sudan. He explained that the absence of State institutions and the significant rise in gold prices -which have exceeded ($100 million) per ton- are the work of millionaires and groups with interests that heavily rely on obstructing the path to peace in Sudan.

On Thursday, Al-Fadil shared in a post on the (X) platform that, the Armed Movements have monopolized the “leftovers” of the mining waste, which is processed in chemical basins and generates millions of dollars.

He pointed out that billions of dollars are being smuggled out of Sudan while the Sudanese people are experiencing the largest humanitarian tragedy the world has ever known. He continued, “The International Organization for Migration official told (Al-Jazeera) that one in every three children in Sudan is a displaced child, and one in every two people is hungry.”
