UAE issues an urgent appeal to both parties to the conflict in Sudan

In the midst of the ongoing military escalation, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) called on the Sudanese government and all parties to the conflict -on Wednesday- to engage in comprehensive negotiations and end the ongoing war in the country.
In an official statement, the (UAE) reiterated that “There is no military solution to the Sudanese crisis,” emphasizing the need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, to engage in civilian-led political negotiations as the only path to lasting stability.
The State also called for refraining from using humanitarian aid as a weapon of war, instead, facilitating the delivery of supplies to all affected people without exception. The (UAE) affirmed its categorical rejection of the politicization or militarization of humanitarian aid.
The United Arab Emirates reiterated its denial of any accusations of supporting either party to the conflict, affirming its commitment to neutrality and working with the international community to attain a peaceful and stable future for Sudan.
This appeal comes after the Sudanese Defense and Security Council announced the severing of ties with the (UAE) and the recall of its embassy staff from Abu Dhabi.
