From Kadugli to Port Sudan

Hajj Majid Siwar is under fire again!!

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) has accused prominent Islamist leader and former National Congress Party (NCP) member Hajj Majid Siwar of involvement in what the Movement described as “Ethnic cleansing crimes” against civilians in the area of Khor Al-‘Afan, in Kadugli during the (1990s), when he worked for the Popular Security Service.

Jatego Umwaja Dalman, the media official of the SPLM-N’s National Liberation Council, launched a fierce attack on Siwar, describing his recent statements as “Sick lies” issued by the remnants of the Security Service and their media extension, affiliated with the Islamic Movement.

Dalman revealed information regarding what he called a plot led by the Port Sudan authorities to ignite a civil war in eastern Sudan through media and security tools, accusing Hajj Majid Siwar of playing a direct role in this plot through his “provocative and directed” statements.

He explained that there is clear concern within the Port Sudan authorities regarding the Rapid Support Forces’ moves to adopt a political project based on addressing the roots of the Sudanese crisis and prioritizing marginalized issues. This has prompted parties in power to use all tools at their disposal to ignite conflicts amongst the local communities.

Dalman emphasized that the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasees) is steadily moving toward achieving its goals, in addition, the ethnic components of eastern Sudan are beginning to realize the reality of the conflict and are consciously working to dismantle the “Jalaba” State and expose its agents from the marginalized who -unfortunately- go as far as assist in implementing the center’s agenda.

He pointed out that the battle taking place today is no longer just between the Center and the marginalized, but rather has become an open confrontation between forces seeking to build a new Sudan and others clinging to reproducing a system of arrogance, corruption, and marginalization.
