A Resounding Scandal in London

A violent brawl between Africans exploited in paid demonstrations

On Tuesday night, London’s Metropolitan Police intervened to break up a violent brawl that broke out between dozens of African citizens in the heart of the British capital, London. The brawl erupted after mutual accusations of deception and exploitation stemming from their participation in a paid demonstration.

Informed sources shared that the participants -brawlers- hailed from several countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Chad and Eritrea, in addition, a group were Sudanese. The aforementioned were recruited to participate in a mass demonstration in Central London after promises of payment for attendance. However, the arrangements fell through and a dispute over wages ensued.

The British Police were forced to intervene quickly after the brawl escalated, resulting in the destruction of a luxury Mercedes. Several participants were arrested, including a prominent leader of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM). An individual holding a diplomatic passport was also evacuated from the scene without charges being filed against him yet.

Security sources confirmed that investigations are underway to uncover the party or parties organizing this controversial demonstration, which has raised widespread questions in political and media circles about the exploitation of migrants and Africans in politically motivated actions in exchange for financial compensation.

This incident represents the latest scandal involving some activists and politicians involved in the Sudanese issue, and raises concerns that some parties are resorting to illegal methods to inflate their political and media presence at the expense of the principles of activism and ethical beliefs.
