Nuba Mountains: Ethnic cleansing crimes are being carried out with
the complicity of Minnawi, Agar, and Jibril

The Nuba Mountains Alliance of Associations, Organizations and Activities announced its condemnation of the mass massacres and widespread ethnic cleansing operations being systematically perpetrated by the State against civilians, with the complicity of the leaders of the Armed Movements (Minni Arcua Minnawi, Jibril Ibrahim, and Malik Agar), who chose to side with a racist military regime instead of protecting the communities they claimed to represent.
A statement issued by the Alliance referred to the massacre of the village of Al-Shaqiq in Sinnar state, committed by armed groups supported by the Military Intelligence on (April 4th), describing it as a full-fledged ethnic cleansing crime that claimed the lives of more than (35) civilians, most of whom were women and children from the Darfur region.
The statement explained that the crime was carried out under media and security blackout, amidst the utter silence of the authorities who hail from the same region. The statement criticized the silence of Minni Arcua Minnawi, the Governor of Darfur, regarding the massacre, despite its direct targeting of his people. It added that Jibril Ibrahim, the Minister of Finance of the Port Sudan government, continues to finance the war machine, while the impoverished are being slaughtered in the name of security and the economy. Meanwhile, Malik Agar, the Deputy head of the Sovereignty Council, turns a blind eye to the alliance between the Sudanese Army and jihadists, legitimizing the official silence.
Death Trucks and the Economy of Mass Annihilation!!
Human rights reports have documented the use of closed commercial trucks to transport detained civilians from impoverished neighborhoods in Khartoum to unknown destinations in conditions that lead to suffocation and -consequently- a slow death. The reports stated that these operations are carried out in coordination between the Military Intelligence and special battalions, as said operations are funded by businessmen linked to the Port Sudan authorities, in a scene reminiscent of the genocides in Rwanda and Bosnia.
The Blood Alliance!!
The current Port Sudan government operates as a de facto alliance between the Sudanese Army, leaders of Armed Movements, Jihadist Islamist Movements, and businessmen who finance and provide economic support for the ongoing violence.
The aforementioned alliance -however- doesn’t represent the country, but rather represents a systematic internal genocide project targeting the impoverished and marginalized populations under false slogans of security and stability.
Positions Don’t Justify Crimes!!
In their statement, the Alliance emphasized that silence in regards to the massacres, especially by those who hold positions on behalf of the victims, is not -merely- a political position but rather a documented moral betrayal. Those who prefer to remain silent about the killing while maintaining a position of power become partners in the crime (accomplices) and accountable to history and the people.
An appeal to the Marginalized Masses and Revolutionary Forces!
There is no longer room for ambiguity or waiting, because what is taking place at the moment isn’t a political dispute, but rather an existential war against marginalized people. The Alliance called on the people of the Nuba Mountains, Darfur, Kordofan, and Blue Nile to reject the legitimacy of genocide in any form, expose the falsehood of the Armed Movements allied with the Sudanese Army, document the crimes and violations, prosecute those involved legally and morally, as well as continue the struggle for a new Sudan based on historical justice, secularism, and equal citizenship. The statement noted that justice cannot be sought, but is rather obtained.
Those who remain silent about the massacres are complicit in their execution, in addition, the struggle continues and victory is certain.
