Nugud: The Islamists harbor secessionist ideologies
and division is unacceptable

Dr. Alaa Nugud, a member of the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasees), shared that the Islamic Movement and Al-Kizan are responsible for the secessionist projects. He added, “Who wants to divide Sudan?”
He emphasized that, based on Sudan’s history, the separatist project is a fundamental characteristic of Al-Kizan. The secession of South Sudan, the Hamdi Triangle, the war in Darfur, and the Sea and River State, are all Islamist secessionist projects. Al-Kizan are attempting to promote the idea of division by invoking religious and racist sentiment, in a similar manner to how they managed to ignite the wars in the South and in Darfur previously. He added, “However, division is not acceptable domestically in Sudan.”
