UN calls for urgent intervention to stop SAF violations

The United Nations (UN) expressed deep concern over the airstrikes carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Tura Market in North Darfur state, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and the injury of dozens.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, called for an international investigation and accountability for those responsible for the violations, noting that targeting civilians constitutes a war crime.
The organization emphasized that the incessant attacks exacerbate the humanitarian crisis, calling on the international community to intervene urgently to protect civilians and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
