Record high Inflation Rate in the month of January

The Central Bureau of Statistics announced yesterday, Sunday, that the inflation rate recorded in January (2025) rose to (378186.19 points) compared to the (375310.45 points) recorded in the month of December (2024), with an increase of (2875.74 points), i.e. a monthly rate of change of (0.77%).

The Central Bureau of Statistics explained that the general Consumer Price Index (CPI) for food and beverages recorded (161179.17 points) for the month of January (2025) compared to (162327.20 points) in December (2024), with a calculated decrease of (-1148.03 points), i.e. a monthly rate of change of (-0.71%).

The consumer goods and services price index recorded (378186.19 points) for January (2025), while it was (154276.32 points) in January (2024), conveying an increase of (223909.87 points), with an annual rate of change in prices (inflation) of (145.14%), i.e. the rate of change in the general price level in January (2025) increased by (145.14%) compared to its counterpart in the previous year.
