RSF Commander: We are committed to the unity of Sudan

land and people, without compromise

The Commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, reiterated his forces’ firm commitment to the unity of Sudan, land and people, and stated: “We will not compromise in this particular regard,” stressing their adherence to achieving civilian rule and building a new Sudan based on the values of freedom, justice and peace.

The Rapid Support Forces Commander shared, in his speech on the occasion of the sixty-ninth anniversary of independence, that the Rapid Support Forces will never accept anything less than a new Sudanese State, free of all forms of hegemony -which ignited Sudan’s wars. A State, in which there is no discrimination on the basis of religion, region, culture and ethnicity. He emphasized that the Rapid Support Forces don’t intend or wish to be the alternative army to the Armed Forces that was destroyed by the former regime and its allied leaders through politicization, favoritism and corruption.

Daglo announced their adherence to the principle of establishing a new professional and national Army, free from the limitations of being controlled by a specific ethnic group or party; He explained: “An Army that doesn’t interfere in politics, and is subject from the day of its establishment to civilian rule and oversight.”

Daglo believed that the values of freedom, justice and peace can only be achieved under a truly democratic system, in which power is based on the popular will and is considered the sole source of power and legitimacy, to establish and build Sudan on new, just foundations. He added: “This is the only path to achieve political stability, freedom and national unity.”
