The humanitarian crisis in Sudan has escalated to catastrophic proportions as the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) continues its indiscriminate bombing campaign against the civilian population. Over the past (48) hours, the cities of Nyala, Kutum, Al-Kuma, and Al-Mazroub have suffered relentless airstrikes, leaving entire communities decimated, countless lives lost, and an unfathomable wave of human suffering in their wake.
On Sunday, (SAF) warplanes unleashed deliberate and barbaric attacks on densely populated residential neighborhoods in Nyala, South Darfur, including the neighborhoods of Musa, Al-Jir, and Al-Matar. These calculated airstrikes, conducted in the early morning and then again under the cover of night, transformed vibrant communities into graveyards, killing hundreds of unarmed civilians and injuring countless more. Today, similar atrocities were perpetrated in Kutum and Al-Kuma, North Darfur, claiming the lives of dozens more. The toll is staggering, and the devastation is immeasurable.
Entire families have been wiped out, buried alive as their homes were obliterated in deliberate and systematic attacks. Women, children, and the elderly — the most vulnerable members of society — have borne the brunt of this heinous violence. What remains is a scene of unimaginable horror: families destroyed, neighborhoods reduced to rubble, and survivors left in anguish. This is not collateral damage. This is a calculated campaign of terror.
These attacks are a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and constitute acts of genocide. The deliberate targeting of residential neighborhoods, the annihilation of entire families, and the terrorization of communities are crimes against humanity that must not be ignored or tolerated. These atrocities, driven by ethnic and regional hatred, are a stain on the conscience of the world.
We call upon the international community, human rights organizations, and institutions committed to justice to rise to this moment with decisive action. Silence in the face of these atrocities is complicity. Inaction only emboldens the perpetrators and prolongs the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The Rapid Support Forces stands resolutely with the victims of these crimes. We are unwavering in our mission to defend the defenseless, hold the perpetrators of these atrocities accountable, and liberate Sudan from terrorism and oppression. The RSF calls on civil society, families, and advocates for human rights everywhere to join us in demanding justice for the victims and accountability for those who perpetrate this terror.
This is not just a battle for Sudan. It is a test of humanity’s commitment to justice and dignity. We will fight relentlessly until these atrocities are stopped, those responsible are brought to justice, and Sudan emerges as a nation built on equality, democracy, peace, and hope.
The time for action is now. Let this serve as a clarion call to the world: the people of Sudan will not be silenced, and the forces of oppression will not prevail.
Mercy and forgiveness be upon our righteous martyrs
