Tagadom discusses delegitimizing Al-Burhan

The head of the Leadership Body of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom”, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, revealed that there are numerous mechanisms proposed in the body’s meeting, including the round table, the broad front, and delegitimization.

On Tuesday, Hamdok shared in a press statement, that the meeting of the llLeadership Body is pivotal and discusses important issues after (6) months of its formation in Addis Ababa.

The meetings of the Leadership Body of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom” began yesterday, Tuesday, at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in the Ugandan city of Entebbe, and will continue until the 6th of December.

The head of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom” explained that participating in the meeting is an opportunity to discuss important issues; most notably of which is the humanitarian crisis, addressing the protection of civilians, and delivering aid across the Sudanese territory and in refugee areas. He added, “This is the gateway to stopping the war.”

Abdullah Hamdok stressed that stopping the war requires a cessation of hostilities, a ceasefire, in addition to its mechanisms. He stated that “Ending the war requires entering into a detailed political process with its parties and agenda to arrange the situation in Sudan”.

He continued, “We hope the ongoing war will be the last war in Sudan.”

“This can only be achieved by detailing the roots of the crisis that caused the war ignited in (1956), which continued until now and engulfed the entire country” according to Hamdok.

He pointed out that the meeting will contribute to the convergence of views in order to conclude an agreed-upon vision.

In late May, the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, witnessed the Founding Conference of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom”, with the participation of about (600) representatives of various Sudanese political and civil components as well as civil society organizations.

The Founding Conference approved the presentation of the basic system and organizational structure of the Coordination, set the necessary controls for representation and decision-making, approved a quota of (40%) for women and (40%) for youth, and chose the new Leadership Body that held a meeting and elected Dr. Abdullah Hamdok as its Chairman.
