Khaled Omar: The Islamic Movement is SAF

Khaled Omar Youssef, a member of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom,” and a leader in the Sudanese Congress Party, commented on the confessions of the leader in the Islamic Movement, Abdul-Hayy Youssef, regarding the war, Sudan, the Army, and the Islamic Movement’s control over the Army, stating that day after day the clouds of lies and deception regarding the nature of this criminal war are dissipating. He added, “This is a war over power, in which a criminal group that has divided the country, killed the people, and has yet to show any signs of satisfaction with the subsequent bloodshed; is active”

He stressed that the Islamic Movement has infiltrated the Army, weakened it, exploiting it for its own authoritarian purposes. It created parallel armies, armed tribal and partisan groups, which were later used to control the people, and when they disagreed about power and authority -not about principle or values- the Islamic Movement rushed to ignite a war that burned the country, displaced and killed its people, and then sought to cover up the shame of its crime with the garb of religion, tribe and region sometimes, and with the garb of homeland and dignity at other times.

Khaled Omar explained that the Islamic Movement has put the country up for sale, placing it at the mercy of regional conflicts as cheap merchandise. Whoever wishes to purchase it has only to legitimize and facilitate the Movement’s authority, and for every deal there is a religious fatwa ready upon request.

He shared that this war is their war, they ignited it and are putting forth diligent efforts to prolong it. The path to end our people’s suffering is through exposing the lies and deception regarding this ongoing war’s nature and goals. They may be able to deceive some people for a while, but they won’t be able to deceive everyone all the time.

The leader in the Sudanese Congress Party added, “This is a witness from their camp boldly stating it.. They are present in the Army Commander-in-Chief’s office and he is incapable of eliminating them, even after describing him with the most obscene attributes.”

Youssef then wondered, do some still wish to hide the sun with a sieve of deception and lies?
