RSF condemns arming citizens in Al-Jazeera and forewarns
The Rapid Support Forces condemned yesterday, Wednesday, the arming of citizens in Al-Jazeera state villages by the battalions of the Islamic Movement, after video clips were circulated on social media, showing armed citizens from the village of Al-Tekyna and other villages in the state, threatening the Rapid Support Forces.
The Rapid Support Forces called in a statement on Wednesday on the residents of the villages to distance themselves from the remnants’ plan, and attempts at thrusting them into the fight in the name of Popular Resistance.
The Rapid Support Forces shared in their statement:
With each passing day, the full dimensions of the conspiracy engineered by the terrorist Islamic Movement and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) come into sharper focus. Their objective is sinister and deliberate: to provoke a violent confrontation between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and innocent civilians, exploiting the resulting chaos for political and media manipulation. Mounting evidence reveals the active orchestration of this plot, including plans to arm villagers across the Gezira region. Circulating videos expose individuals — remnants of the former regime and misled agents from Tikaina and neighboring villages — brazenly pledging to attack our forces.
We issue an urgent and unequivocal appeal to the residents of these villages: do not allow yourselves to be used as pawns in the machinations of the former regime. These forces seek only to exploit you, dragging innocent civilians into a conflict under the false banner of “popular resistance.” Stand firm and distance yourselves from their treacherous schemes. Let there be no doubt: the RSF will not tolerate the terrorist former regime and their attempts to sow discord throughout country. We will confront them with unwavering resolve.
Our courageous soldiers are vigilantly monitoring the movements of the former regime, who are actively mobilizing and arming citizens in specific areas of Gezira State. Their intention is clear: to create chaos by weaponizing civilians and entangling them in this conflict. This dangerous strategy is compounded by efforts to leverage the resulting disorder through platforms controlled by the military intelligence and their propaganda apparatus, including the so-called Al Jazeera Conference and other contrived fronts designed solely for political and media deception.
We possess irrefutable evidence exposing the complicity of terrorist leaders in this reckless mobilization campaign, which is aimed at fabricating baseless allegations for political gain. A glaring example is the criminal rhetoric of Abdel Fattah al-Burhan of the SAF, who shamelessly declared during a public address in al-Butana his readiness to arm civilians nationwide under the guise of “popular resistance.” Such reckless and incendiary statements reveal the depth of the former regime’s desperation and their willingness to endanger innocent lives to sustain their corrupt and incestuous circle of jihadism and authoritarianism.
To the Sudanese people and the international community: the RSF remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding civilians and ensuring their safety. We are resolute in our mission to dismantle the networks of terror and corruption that have plagued our nation for more than three decades. While we prioritize the protection of innocent lives, we will act decisively and without hesitation against any militant or terrorist entity threatening our path toward establishing a just, democratic, and prosperous Sudan.
