Searching her phone and retrieving years-old photos..
The Army arrests a journalist in Ed Dueim
In a shocking incident that sparked widespread controversy, the Sudanese Army’s Military Intelligence arrested journalist Rasha Hassan in the morning, two days ago, in front of one of the city’s Health Centers, without disclosing the reasons behind this arrest.
In an exclusive interview with “Alrakoba”, Rasha revealed that the Special Task Forces carried out her arrest before handing her over to the Military Intelligence. She stated that she was forced to go on a hunger strike the day after her detention, in protest against the lack of any clarification regarding the reason for her arrest.
She added that the authorities searched her mobile phone thoroughly, and were able to retrieve all the photos and recordings deleted from her device over the past years, in a measure she considered to be a blatant violation of her privacy and rights as a journalist.
