Umma Party: The Army is threatening the lives of civilians
The National Umma Party condemned the airstrikes carried out by the Sudanese Army’s warplanes on the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, on Saturday.
The National Umma Party shared in a statement: (In continuation of the indiscriminate airstrikes, the Armed Forces’ warplanes bombed neighborhoods in the city of Nyala on Saturday evening, November 9th).
The statement added that the airstrikes left dozens of innocent civilians dead and wounded, most of whom were children, women and the elderly whose bodies were burned by the explosive barrels.
In the same context, the Party denounced the repeated indiscriminate bombing of civilians, indicating that the continued airstrikes by the Armed Forces’ warplanes on markets, residential areas and citizen gatherings have become a real threat to the lives of civilians, and a crime that necessitates monitoring and accountability.
The National Umma Party statement added: (Despite our repeated demands to the leadership of the Armed Forces to spare citizens the dangers of airstrikes, unfortunately these violations continue to take place without any consideration for the consequent threat to the lives of citizens).
The statement indicated that the bombing by warplanes since the outbreak of the war has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent citizens in most parts of the country.
