RSF forms special committee tasked with situation in Al Hilaliya
The Rapid Support Forces formed a committee tasked with following up on developments regarding the health situation in Al-Hilaliya area, east of Al-Jazeera state and the deaths resulting from the outbreak of diarrhea suspected to be cholera.
The Rapid Support Forces shared in a statement:
A high-level committee was tasked by the Rapid Support Forces Command to rigorously monitor and address the escalating health crisis in al-Hilaliyah region, with a specific focus on the tragic fatalities stemming from the suspected cholera outbreak. The Rapid Support Forces and Civil Administration leaders are actively coordinating with international health organizations to urgently deliver essential medical supplies and relief to the citizens of Al-Jazeera State.
Our forces have been on high alert, closely assessing the health emergency in Al-Hilaliyah, where a severe outbreak of diarrhea has been compounded by an acute shortage of critical medicines. This dire situation is deliberately worsened by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied militia linked to the terrorist Islamic Movement, whose obstruction of humanitarian aid is preventing life-saving medical and relief assistance from reaching citizens in areas under our protection.
In addition, we are closely monitoring the disinformation campaigns orchestrated by the former regime and their aligned media channels, which are intentionally spreading false and conflicting information to manipulate public sentiment. This tactic is part of a broader, destructive strategy by the Islamic Movement to incite unarmed citizens into confrontations while those truly responsible — who profit from the suffering of the people — remain safely hidden and untouched.
The RSF Medical Unit has been providing dedicated and reliable assistance to the residents of al-Hilaliyah, a truth that is confirmed by local residents who witness our efforts firsthand.
We hold the Port Sudan faction – the remnants of the former regime, the Islamic Movement, and their extremist allies – fully accountable for the worsening health crisis in Sudan. Their denial of humanitarian access and intentional sabotage of essential water, electricity, and communication services has drastically intensified the hardship and suffering of innocent civilians. We call on international organizations to take immediate and decisive action to address the critical humanitarian needs of Sudan’s civilian population.
On our part, we are fully committed to facilitating the access of these humanitarian organizations to all areas under our control, ensuring that vital aid reaches those most in need.
We remain unwavering in our mission to dismantle the oppressive power structures of the former regime and the terror-driven Islamic Movement’s military apparatus. Our sole aim is to usher in a new, democratic era in Sudan and build a just, equitable country for all our people.
Mercy and forgiveness be upon our righteous martyrs
