Gibril Ibrahim in Tehran to conclude a new arms deal

The Minister of Finance of the de facto government in Port Sudan held a meeting with the Iranian government in the capital, Tehran, to conclude a new arms deal for the Sudanese Army under the guise of enhancing economic and trade cooperation, according to reliable sources.

Gibril met with the Tehran-appointed commissioner for developing relations with Sudan, Abdel Nasser Hematt, noting the flourishing relations between Port Sudan and Tehran.

The two sides stressed during the meeting their countries’ readiness to strengthen bilateral relations. Gibril expressed keenness to develop economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A large force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is present in the Red Sea region, tasked with training forces from the Islamic battalions to participate in combat, training on drones and Iranian weapons, in addition to securing the Red Sea coast.
