Hamdok to visit Uk today to mobilize international support to stop the war in Sudan
The Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom” stated that the head of its leadership body, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, begins a visit to the United Kingdom today, as part of Tagadom’s efforts to draw the world’s attention to the war disaster in Sudan and mobilize international support to address the humanitarian disaster that has befallen millions of Sudanese people as well as to put forth efforts to establish peace and silence the sounds of guns in Sudan.
Tagadom explained in a press statement today that the visit includes meetings with the British government, members of parliament and the House of Lords, as well as a number of organizations active in the humanitarian and human rights field. He will also meet with Sudanese organizations in Britain. Hamdok will address the annual Africa Summit organized by the “Financial Times” newspaper, as well as an event organized by the Royal Institute of International Affairs entitled “Civilian Priorities in Ending the War in Sudan”.
Tagadom stressed that it is working diligently to unify the voices of Sudanese who oppose the war in order to work to stop to stop the war, in addition to continuing its domestic and international activities at such a disastrous time the country and its people are suffering through, citizens whose lives have been destroyed by war.
Tagadom noted that its top priority within the context of domestic and international communication is to protect civilians, stop crimes committed against them, hold perpetrators accountable, provide humanitarian assistance, and seek ways to achieve comprehensive and sustainable peace throughout the country as quickly as possible.
